
Woodley Meadows is steeped in the history of Loudoun County. The original portion of the house, a Quaker stone farm house was built in the late l700’s. and includes thecurrent dining room and bedrooms above. The next addition was done around l825, and the last, a Victorian section, was completed in the 1850’s or 1860’s. There are seven working fireplaces in the house.
The Front Hall which is in the Victorian Section has limestone tiles with marble inserts, a crystal chandelier and a powder room. The Living Room, 21’x 15’, to the right of the front hall has the original chestnut floor, elegant plaster crown moldings, a crystal chandelier with a ceiling medallion, a fireplace and a door to the back yard. This room was part of the 1825 addition. The Dining Room, 23’x 15’, has a chair rail, a built in glass fronted china cabinet next to the large stone fireplace, (which has a slate hearth), crystal scones and a crystal chandelier with a ceiling medallion, old pine floors and a door to the side porch. The Tea Room, 14’x 11’, has chestnut flooring, and a charming small fireplace. To the left of the Front Hall is a Sunroom, 19’x 18’, with a crystal chandelier, an elegant marble fireplace and hearth, a bay window, window seats, moldings and columns.
